The beloved Wellington group has announced shows at the Michael Fowler Centre and Auckland’s Spark Arena in September.
Fat Freddy’s Drop were forced to hurriedly return from Germany in March due to Covid-19, having played just one date on their planned two-month European tour.
They had to wait almost three months for their tour gear and instruments to get back to New Zealand, and were excited to announce headline shows.
Fat Freddy’s Drop live in September:
- Wellington: Thursday 24 September, Michael Fowler Centre // with Louis Baker
- Auckland: Saturday 26 September, The Cauldron at Spark Arena // with Avantdale Bowling Club
Tickets for both shows go on sale Monday 27 July 12pm from Ticketmaster
In addition to their live shows the band will be streaming a special recording of eight songs performed at the Michael Fowler Centre, with no audience, in June.
The set spans the gamut of Freddy's career and includes slower choices that wouldn’t normally be part of a typical high octane Freddy's show. A brand new track in the making makes a surprise appearance too.
