Kiwi musicians Nadia Reid and Reb Fountain meet up to play covers of each other’s songs, and have a good old yarn. It’s part of new Creative New Zealand-funded series Under Cover: Artists in Isolation in Conversation.
Before lockdown, local musicians Nadia Reid and Reb Fountain were both on the eve of releasing new albums and embarking on big international tours.
The pair were even due to be travel on the same plane to career-changing U.S. music festival South By Southwest (SXSW), which was cancelled just before their departure.
In this episode of Under Cover Nadia and Reb perform beautiful covers of one another’s songs: Nadia covers Reb’s ‘Faster’ and Reb covers Nadia’s ‘Get The Devil Out’.
The pair discuss how their music and career trajectories have changed in a heartbeat; how having their dogs throughout lockdown helped them through; their combined love of Joni Mitchell; and when they might tour again.
Under Cover is a multi-episode web series where two musicians talk with one another about their music, their lives, and how Covid-19 has affected them. Each episode includes two musical performances where the musicians cover one another’s songs.
Under Cover is co-presented by The Spinoff and RNZ Music | A Banished Music Production | Thanks to Creative New Zealand
