RNZ Music is proud to present the psychedelic new video from Wellington art-rockers Secret Knives. ‘Simple Bliss’ is taken from their second album Snuff.
Secret Knives is the nom de plume of Wellington multi-instrumentalist Ash Smith. ‘Simple Bliss’ is taken from his second album Snuff released in October, nine years after 2010 debut Affection.
RNZ Music’s Kirsten Johnstone describes Snuff as “an ambitious, maximalist album that takes influence from dream-pop, shoegaze and electronic music… an emotional listen.”
The vid for ‘Simple Bliss’ is an experimental animation by Euphoric Co. featuring Ash in an ever-evolving “expressionist environment” of analog and digital textures.
Snuff is available now on all streaming platforms or for purchase on Bandcamp.
