RNZ Music is proud to present the new video from local five-piece Young Lyre, ‘Nobody Else’.
Young Lyre first formed at high school in Auckland in 2012 so they could enter Smokefree Rockquest. A couple of name changes and two EPs later, they’re now travelling abroad, and releasing music from various locations around the world.
The group compares their sound to Phoenix and Tame Impala.
‘Nobody Else’ follows the release of ‘Astore’, the first single from the band’s upcoming third EP Providence, which is due out later this year.
The video for ‘Nobody Else’ was shot in various locations throughout the Middle East and Europe.
According to the band, it aims to create a “wandering, dreamlike effect” that “captures the feeling of escaping the rest of the world with your favourite person”.
The song itself was recorded at Neil Finn’s Roundhead Studios in Auckland.
