Live: Amjad Ali Khan in session at WOMAD

From RNZ Music, 8:15 pm on 15 March 2019

Amjad is widely credited with re-inventing the technique of playing the sarod - the stringed instrument used mainly in Hindustani music. He performed at WOMAD 2019 as a trio with his sons, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash, who are both renowned sarod players themselves.

Here's Amjad performing a song based on the folk music of Bengal, composed by poet Rabindranath Tagore, especially for RNZ Music.
