VIDEO PREMIERE: 'Respite' by Beachware

From RNZ Music, 4:37 pm on 21 January 2019

RNZ Music is proud to present Beachware’s brand new vid for 'Respite', by the ultra-talented director and producer Frances Carter.

Auckland alt-pop quartet Beachware released ‘Respite’ back in November and now director Frances Carter (who’s done vids for Street Chant, Theia, Meer and more) has created this beauty.

The band says, "She successfully embodied our ironic and lovably awkward vibe, while simultaneously answering our call for a vulnerable, inclusive, queer, body confident message.”

'Respite' is about escaping from tedium and, according to band-member Alexandra Selkirk-Hanna, Carter's video for the song delivers more than they'd ever hoped for - complete with dynamite water ballet sequences!

"The video is dreamlike and at the same time so unfeigned. We are so chuffed to show you 'Respite'."

‘Respite’ is Beachware’s first single since their 2017 debut EP Twin Coast Disk Drive, and it’s available on all the usual streaming services.
