A stalwart of the UK’s Grime scene since he first announced himself as a precocious, clash-ready teen, Kano is now something of an elder statesman of Grime's UK Garage-influenced, Jamaican music-indebted sound.
"I feel like everything has affected this sound ... even our parents coming from the West Indies and coming over in the '60s," says Kano. "We are definitely influenced by the English culture that we kind of grew up with, but also our parents' reggae music and dancehall."
Kano’s fifth studio album Made in the Manor returns the proud Eastender to the streets of his youth and the relationships that put him on his grimey path.
From his home in London, Kano takes Sam Wicks back to where it all started.
