Taking time off to raise children after her second release, 2012's Master of My Make-Believe, Santigold returns with characteristic confidence on her new album, 99 cents.
The cover image is Santigold, lying with an array of possessions - a synth, some shoes, a drum machine, collection of nail polishes, sunglasses, a toy horse…all vacuum packed into a plastic bag by Japanese photographer Haruhiko Kawaguchi.
If this is ringing some bells for you - you might be familiar with his series Flesh Love, in which he photographed couples that he'd found in nightclubs in Tokyo. They were often naked and always vacuum packed.
Santigold tells Emma Smith what she remembers of her own cover shoot.
