"Shorecore" is the term given to the combination of blues-driven rock music of Takapuna Grammar alumni The Checks and the rhythm’n’blues bands from Auckland’s North Shore that formed in their wake.
Three years after their split, former Checks Ed Knowles and Sven Pettersen have regrouped as Racing, roping in Space Creeps’ Izaac Houston and Sherpa’s Daniel Barrett to complete the line-up.
Knowles and Pettersen talk to Sam Wicks about the new set of influences they’re brought to the table this time ’round.
