2025 has been a big year for London-based keyboardist, composer, producer and bandleader Joe Armon-Jones. Completing multiple tours, releasing his two-part album All The Quiet and running his own label, Aquarii Records, are just a handful of his achievements.
He’s also a member of one of jazz’s biggest bands, Ezra Collective, who were awarded the 2025 Brit Group of the Year and were the recipients of the 2023 Mercury Music Prize.
Joe Armon-Jones tells Maggie Tweedie how his father’s work as a professional piano player and his mum’s singing voice first drew him towards music and reflects on how London’s legendary youth music initiative Tomorrow’s Warriors has shaped many of his musical relationships.
