Freespritied songstress Lou'ana has been carving her place in the Auckland music scene for the last six years. She's performed with a number of different acts including funk/soul band Hipstamatics and Kiwi electronic outfit Sola Rosa.

A second-generation Samoan New Zealander, Lou'ana was raised in a family of music. The radio would always be on, blasting tunes from artists including Ella Fitzgerald, Roy Orbison, Elvis, Janis Joplin, and Jimi Hendrix.

Lou'ana's voice is sweet and soulful, but with a gritty, blues edge that sounds a bit like Etta James, Stevie Nicks, or Amy Winehouse.

Her debut album Moonlight Madness has just been released. We are so lucky to have Lou'ana here performing for us live on Music 101.
