A leader of a Maori mental heath service says tangata whenua need to own up to the high rates of child abuse in their whanau and find solutions within Maori culture; Allegations that some tribal groups had not been consulted about the proposed Ruataniwha Dam have been dismissed by the Board of Inquiry; Public servants have have been warned that the lives of tangata whenua will deteriorate if government departments fail to create equality for Maori; Three hundred elders from across the country are taking part in this year's New Zealand Post Kaumatua Kapa Haka event being held in Wellington this weekend.
