Changes are being made within the country's only kaupapa Maori intellectual disability residential care provider, which had been heavily criticised by the Ministry of Health; Tangata whenua are being encouraged to step up and consider driving an employment plan similiar to one already underway in Australia, which is getting aboriginal people into work; Iwi who are interested in setting up saving schemes for their members are seeking advice from Ngai Tahu about how to do so; Two top of the South Island tribes are feeling confident about moving forward now that their treaty settlements will be legislated by the end of the year.
