A North Island hapu is in the Supreme Court today, seeking ownership of a section of riverbed near Tokoroa; A Maori language medium school in Christchurch says it's prepared to stay put and has no plans of moving - despite a relocation plan by the government; Tauranga Moana a Toi Iwi Forum Chairman, Te Awanui Black, says he doesn't take any comfort from an assurance by the owner of the container ship Rena, that leaving the rest of the wreck on Astrolabe reef, won't pose a threat to the marine environment; The police in Marlborough have appointed an iwi liaison officer to provide advice on cultural issues with Maori, as well as developing relationships with the eight tribes in the region, and collecting intelligence on criminal investigations.
