Whanganui iwi says they understand the benefits of a Whanau Ora crime reduction strategy, but suggest the Government maybe trying to re-invent the wheel; A Maori Tertiary Institute in Whakatane disputes an allegation by a Ngapuhi leader that its chief executive earns more than a half a million dollars a year; Ngai Tahu's Kaiwhakahaere or Chairman, Sir Mark Solomon, has been appointed a director of the Maori Fisheries Trust, Te Ohu Kaimoana; The Cancer Society says Maori are more likely to die from melanoma than any other ethnicity, and should stop underestimating the risk of skin cancer.
