A collective of Waikato hapu has suggested it could take a separate legal case over the Crown's treatment of the Treaty of Waitangi in the water claims battle; A group representing lawyers and judges is commending a new police and iwi strategy to reduce the prosecution of Maori by 25% - even though they say it's a long shot; Ngai Tuhoe says being able to take over the lease of the motor camp at Lake Waikaremoana, would help re-connect the tribe to Te Urewera in the mind of the public; Politicians are waiting for answers on the effects of welfare reforms on Maori.
