The principal of Inglewood High School in Taranaki says the racist behaviour of some of its students does not reflect the nature of her school or her community; A tribe with links to Wellington, Ngati Toa, wants the Minister of Treaty Negotiations to step in after after its Treaty settlement was put off again due to court action by another Maori group; The Iwi Education Authority wants to work with the head of the Ministry of Education to help Maori do better at school; A senior lecturer at the University of Auckland hopes a project looking at Maori understandings of Maori art will contribute to new indigenous art histories that are being written around the world.
