Ngai Tahu iwi has welcomed the Government's changes to the Emissions Trading Scheme which include delaying the need for the agricultural sector to join the Emissions Trading Scheme until at least 2015; The commercial arm of Waikato-Tainui iwi expects the use of technology will determine the number of jobs created by its proposed inland port near Hamilton; The Taupo Moana Group, which manages 250 million dollars of iwi, hapu and Maori trust money, has launched a new savings scheme called Iwi Investor; The Chairman of Ngati Apa Developments, Toko Kapea, says his Marton based iwi is watching carefully how other tribes invest their Waitangi Treaty settlement money, following failed investments by a northern Taranaki iwi, Ngati Tama.
