A Hauraki iwi is considering seeking an urgent Waitangi Tribunal hearing over plans to return fourteen Auckland mountains to a group of tribes; A welfare support group in Auckland is against a government policy proposal to ban abusive parents from living or working with children - saying the abuse needs to be stopped first; A panellist reviewing the Ture Whenua Maori Land Act says one of key areas they will address is cutting down the red tape for Maori - so they can start using their whenua more productively; The Maori into Tertiary Education initiative has just received a $650,000 boost in the form of an ASB community grant.
