The Waikato Regional Council is about to embark on the final step to implement two Maori seats; The Labour MP for Te Tai Tonga, Rino Tirikatene, says the politician he won the Southern Maori seat from has been advertising herself as the region's member of Parliament; A central North Island iwi, Ngati Apa, is buying shares in a shopping mall complex in Whanganui; An Australian university lecturer who's on a four month fellowship at Waikato University, says he was so moved by a recent marae graduation, he wants to see aspects of the Aboriginal culture included in graduations at Australian universities.
