The Government has set up a reference group to advise Ministers on how to increase the number of high quality Te Reo Maori speaking teachers; Meanwhile the Whangarei based Ngati Hine Health Trust, wants to see more people who are qualified in New Zealand Sign Language, as well as being speakers o f Te Reo Maori and English; The Restaurant Association of New Zealand has just extended its apprenticeship schemes in the North Island, giving more young people including rangatahi Maori entry into the hospitality industry; Organisers of Waikato University's fourth annual Kingitanga Day, say this year's event includes a symposium on the status, place and relevance of the Treaty of Waitangi in a constitution for Aotearoa.
