The Maori Council says it's prepared to take its claim on freshwater rights to the Supreme Court, if the Government rejects it; The Maori Economic Development Panel says the responsibility for substantially boosting the Maori economy which is currently worth 37 billion dollars, doesn't just lie with big businesses; Several more key Maori dignitaries will today present submissions at the urgent Waitangi Tribunal hearings over Te Kohanga Reo movement's call for a law change to allow it to manage itself; A karanga course for Maori women is proving so popular - it's now being offered at 17 different sites around the country, and has now been introduced to the South Island.
