Coastal iwi in Bay of Plenty want a royal commission of inquiry into the Rena disaster; a north Taranaki hapu is meeting with the New Plymouth Council and the Historic Places Trust tomorrow after Maori artefacts were found close to an urupa or burial site in Waitara; a powhiri will be held at Te Papa museum in Wellington today, to mark the return to New Zealand of 20 toi moko or Maori ancestral heads from France; preparations are almost complete at the settlement of Te Kao in the Far North, for a three day festival and celebration of Aupouritanga.
