Celebrations at South Pole mark Heroic Age centenary

It's a hundred years today since the first explorers reached the South Pole. The Norwegian explorer, Roald Amundsen, and his team of four, arrived at the Pole on this day a century ago, beating a British team led by Captain Robert Falcon Scott by just over a month.
