The whanau of a Waikato master carver, Richard Tiki Green, says he'll be remembered through his carvings, including whakairo at Huntly's Waahi Pa, which is the home marae of the Kingitanga movement; The Whanganui District Mayor says recently erected welcoming signs which some councillors have criticised, reflect New Zealand's history; Waikato Regional Council has issued consents for a milk factory at Arapuni in South Waikato, following an agreement with a local iwi Ngati Koroki Kahukura; Te Arawa Lake Trust Chairman Toby Curtis, says a floating wetland planned for Lake Rotorua, fits in well with the iwi's kaitiakitanga or conservation responsbilities.
