Government faces locals' backlash over mining proposals

Residents and environmental groups from Great Barrier Island and the Coromandel Peninsula say there will be a fierce backlash against attempts to address what the Energy and Resources Minister Gerry Brownlee says is a weak economy and a decline in exports.
