Staff at research organisation Callaghan Innovation are urging the government to prevent job cuts they say will put scientific expertise in peril.
In a letter to the Research, Science and Innovation Minister, nearly 90 engineers, scientists and support workers warn of the impact of job losses.
It's thought staff will hear about restructuring on Monday.
