Simmering debate over co-governance has boiled over into accusations of racism and "race-baiting" in the election campaign.
ACT and New Zealand First were singled out in an open letter signed by 20 Māori leaders late last week.
They accused ACT of "race-baiting policies" and New Zealand First of "racist comments" by some of its candidates.
