National says it will ban cellphones in all schools if it becomes the Government.
The UN report, Technology in Schools, released last month, found cellphones distract students and have a negative impact on learning in the 14 countries studied as part of the report.
National Party leader, Christopher Luxon says students need to focus on their schoolwork during class time and banning cellphones will help lift student achievement.
He spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
