The Mosgiel Taieri's Community Board chair is horrified by suspected arson on the property of a family of former refugees from Syria.
Police are investigating after the outdoor shed was found on fire on Monday night. They have released a photograph of a man seen entering the Murray Street property before the fire started.
The family say they are the victims of hate crimes, and have experienced a spate of attacks including smashed windows and eggs thrown at the house, with one family member told to leave the country for wearing her head dress.
