One of New Zealand's foremost defence analysts says he's been warning people for several years of the threat of state-sponsored disinformation infiltrating New Zealand society.
RNZ has launched an external review and stood a staff member down after at least 16 articles were edited, adding pro-Russian disinformation.
Dr Paul Buchanan is a security consultant at 36th Parallel Assessments and says RNZ should have been better prepared for people trying to spread disinformation, and not just pro-Russia sentiment.
