The Police Association predicts more people will die as a result of the police taking a harder line with fleeing drivers.
The Commissioner, Andrew Coster, has freed up officers to pursue cars more frequently, after fleeing drivers events more than doubled after the police essentially stopped the chases.
Association president, Chris Cahill, spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
