Some medical experts have welcomed the Government's decision not to remove the Covid19 mandatory protections.
That includes the seven-day isolation for people testing positive, as well as mask wearing in health care settings.
However, the Government intends to revisit the rules in two months, raising concerns after modelling showed ending the isolation rule could bring a surge in Covid-19 hospitalisations and deaths.
The mathematical modelling was done by Covid-19 Modelling Aotearoa.
