The Prime Minister Chris Hipkins says the Government is cutting its cloth to suit the times.
To do that it is axing or amending a swathe of policies and programmes - including ditching the half-a-billion-dollar clean car upgrade scheme, and narrowing speed limit reductions to focus on urban areas.
