For the first time since the return of democracy in Fiji in 2014, Frank Bainimarama's Fiji First Party has failed to secure the majority of seats in Parliament.
A coalition government will need to be formed instead, with Fiji First two seats shy of a parliamentary majority.
It'll all come down to the decision of the Social Democratic Liberal Party and its leader Viliame Gavoka, Fiji's kingmaker, as to who he'll join to form a government.
A New Zealand delegation has been in Fiji observing the election, and National Party MP Todd McClay is among the group.
He spoke to Gyles Beckford.
