A survivor of abuse in state care says she is frustrated she hasn't heard anything a year after a Royal Commission recommended a redress scheme should be brought in immediately.
Robyn, who doesn't want her surname used, is a former patient of the Lake Alice psychiatric hospital's child and adolescent unit near Marton.
She now lives in the Central North Island, where she spoke to reporter Jimmy Ellingham.
She began by telling him what she wants the government to do, and what she went through 50 years ago at Lake Alice.
