The Auckland City Council is facing a $295 million budget shortfall for next year, and yet its expenditure control and procurement committee won't be meeting next week because they have nothing to talk about.
The committee's chairman, Maurice Williamson, cancelled the meeting, saying it was too soon to meet as there isn't any solid data or analysis for the committee to look at.
Fellow councillor Angela Dalton says the move is unbelievable, and that committee members feel they're being sidelined.
Dalton spoke to Corin Dann.
