Prime Minister defends government action on crime after dairy worker's death

The Prime Minister says she understands why Aucklanders don't feel safe in their city, but argues the government is working to address people's concerns.

Jacinda Ardern attended the funeral of 34 year old Janak Patel who was fatally stabbed while working at Rose Cottage Superette in Sandringham. 

The problem of aggravated robberies, and inner city crime in general, looks set to dog the government as it moves into the coming election year.

As will the worsening economic outlook signalled by the country's central bank.

Ardern spoke to Corin Dann.
