The local community is in deep distress after a man working in an Auckland dairy was stabbed and killed during a violent robbery on Wednesday night.
The attack happened at the Rose Cottage Superette in Sandringham, just after 8pm, the man died in hospital.
Sandringham Neighbourhood Support coordinator John McCaffery says they had made many attempts to get more security at the shop, but police had denied their requests.
