US President Joe Biden and Chinese leader Xi Jinping say they oppose the use of nuclear weapons in the war in Ukraine.
The leaders met this morning on the sidelines of the G20 world leaders summit in Bali, for their first in person encounter since the US President took office.
Depsite increasing tension between the China and the US, Mr Biden says he and Mr Xi understand one another.
In his speech, President Biden also took the opportunity to tout the strength and resiliance of American democracy following the recent midterm elections.
