Fuel company leader on new Commerce Commission powers

Fuel companies will soon have a closer eye kept on them with the Commerce Commission taking on new powers to regulate unruly pricing.

The government has also announced that fuel companies will be required to stock a month's worth of petrol to protect prices from spiking during global emergencies.

A third announcement extended the deadline for suppliers to introduce biofuels to customers by, which will be April 2024.

Gull New Zealand general manager Dave Bodger spoke to Corin Dann about how these changes will affect the sector.
