Would you drop a house deposit on a 250-year-old microscope?
Auction house owner Charles Miller expects someone will do just that this week, when a microscope used by Joseph Banks on Captain Cook's first Voyage of Discovery goes under the hammer.
The microscope, which was used between1768-1771, is expected to fetch between $60,000 and $100,000.
