A Russian court has rejected an appeal by US basketball star Brittney Griner against her nine-year prison sentence.
The two-time Olympic gold medalist has been in Russian custody since February, for allegedly carrying vape cartridges with cannabis oil, which is banned in Russia.
Griner's attorneys asked the court for a more lenient sentence, arguing the verdict was unfair and unjustified under Russian law.
