The new UK chancellor has insisted that the Prime Minister should remain in leadership despite turmoil in the financial markets since she took office.
Liz Truss has come under fire for sacking her previous chancellor and announcing a second U-turn on a major policy to scrap a planned tax increase.
Talks are underway to adjust the government's highly criticised mini-Budget, and the new chancellor Jeremy Hunt says nothing is off limits in terms of revising tax cuts and public spending.
