A new report says severe marine heatwaves, as well as hotter, more acidic waters are on the rise in New Zealand.
The report, by the Ministry for the Environment (MFE) and Stats NZ, shows the marine environment is under stress which could affect coastal communities, water quality and the future of some marine species.
