Transpower calls off power emergency

From Morning Report, 8:10 am on 7 October 2022

Transpower says there is a power emergency in the North Island and is not ruling out power outages.

There is a fault on one of the two Cook Strait cables which brings electricity up from the South Island.

The national lines company has warned additional power demand may need to be cut which could result in some people being disconnected.

Transpower chief executive Alison Andrew spoke to Corin Dann.
