Members of the Oath Keepers, a far-right militia group, will be tried after jury selection on charges of seditious conspiracy, a rare offence from the Civil War era.
Authorities allege the group formed a weeks-long plot to violently stop the transfer of presidential power from election-denier Donald Trump to Joe Biden in 2020.
