Principals alarmed by high failure rate on literacy tests
Principals across the country are alarmed about high failure rates in literacy and numeracy tests. One principal has told RNZ they had a 100 percent failure rate in a writing test, while others reported pass rates of below 50 percent. The Association of Teachers of English says it's a serious problem that urgently needs action. Vice-president Pip Tinning spoke to Corin Dann.
