The Mayor of the Far North is unhappy, saying Northland was put into lockdown for 11 days last October for no reason.
RNZ this morning revealed that the two women with Covid-19 who sparked a lockdown in Northland had the correct documentation.
Mayor John Carter told Morning Report that the Wellington bureaucracy got it wrong, and it was a mistake that put jobs at risk and caused stress to the Far North.
He says the incident caused much grief at the time - and there needs to be apology.
