All Blacks coach Ian Foster has been given no assurance he will keep his job, despite his side's stunning 35-23 win over the Springboks in Johannesburg on Sunday morning.
Minutes after the victory, Foster told Sky Sport he had no idea whether he'd be in charge of the national team for their next match against Argentina in two weeks' time.
New Zealand Rugby hosted a press conference on Monday night, in which chief executive Mark Robinson said the organisation wanted to be more open and transparent.
Without divulging many details, Robinson said Foster's future will be announced around the middle of this week.
Robinson said he'd been in constant contact with Foster about the coaching role, but didn't inspire confidence he'd be retained.
Robinson said the board would be meeting this week to discuss Foster's future, and had the final call on the coaching job.
Robinson and his leadership team, as well as NZ Rugby's high performance unit, would offer advice to the board.
Nobody from the High Performance Unit was in South Africa this past fortnight, but they have been analysing performance from home.
RNZ's sports editor, Stephen Hewson, asked Robinson if he had a recommendation ready to take to the board.
